Sub-agency's Staff, Fauzi Rahman said restocking of hundreds of seahorses of the Hippocampus Cuda and Hippocampus Comes types was carried out to preserve marine biota and ecosystems.

According to him, this restocking effort is cooperated with Ministry of Maritime and Fishery's Human Resource Development and Training Board, and SMKN 61 Jakarta.
"Seahorse species in the waters of the Seribu Islands are very minimal and rarely found. We hope that the preservation of this unique marine habitat will also be an attraction for tourists. If lots of tourists come, it is hoped that the welfare of the residents will also increase," he added.
SMKN 61 Jakarta Head, Heru Puspito, thanked and appreciated the cooperation.
"This activity is one of the programs for students or cadets to improve their skills in the field of Brackish Water and Marine Fisheries Agribusiness," he stated.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Maritime and Fishery's Head of the Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Luthfi Assadad, wants the activity can be consistently continued.
"We open opportunities for internships at the Kongsi Island Smart Fisheries Village activities in the Seribu Islands. We also provide opportunities to continue education at the Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic in KKP," he explained.
